CONFERENCE SPOTLIGHTS
*Fourth Annual CICNet Conference on Datafication: Sustaining the Global
Network/Building New Communities. May 15-17, 1996. Marshall University,
Huntington, West Virginia. In the past three years, CICNet's annual Rural
Datafication Conferences have contributed by raising questions-and providing
some answers-about rural and small community networking. In response to the
many changes in the networking community that have occurred since the first
meeting, the fourth conference will expand significantly on the original
themes of access to the Net in remote locations. Conference tracks will
include civic and community networking, education, health, and agriculture,
as well as connectivity and access issues.
*WVNET Users' Conference. Participants at the Fourth Annual CICNet Conference
are also invited to attend the West Virginia Network for Educational
Telecomputing (WVNET) annual users' conference, taking place in Huntington
directly preceding the Datafication Conference, May 14-15, 1996. WVNET's
participants can help you learn more about local issues in networking from a
statewide perspective. For more information on either conference, visit

at (304) 696-3312.
